Let’s tell a story

To tell a story is no child’s play!

Our kids tell lots of stories- children have an inbuilt and innate ability to create and perform stories. They  are the masters of the art of storytelling. However, when they grow up, slowly that art fades away and the magical world of imagination and creativity begins to drifts away from them.

As parents, can we preserve their special abilities alive and help them to master those abilities, sharpen their skills and strengthen their effectiveness?

Here is a tip:

Feed them with words and concepts- let them create their own stories.

The following worksheet is a sample with which we can help our kids to create stories. With some concrete support inn the form of pictures, words and phrases, the parents can provide a scaffolding and the child can develop further using the abundant imagination and creativity brimming in them.

Happy Storytelling!

Television, computer and mobile phones are the best friends of our children. All these technology based entertainment gadgets have a huge limitation- lack of natural and interpersonal interaction.

Studies have pointed out the adverse effects of ‘tech addiction’, such as dearth of imagination and creativity, critical thinking and analytical reasoning, social skills, empathy, care for others and civic responsibility. The survey reports and statistics published time to time create panic in parents who often find their kids glued to the electronic mode of entertainment.

BUT WHAT IS THE WAY OUT?

Aunt Owl’s Tales is an answer for that crucial question.
